Guys, this one is really awesome. I know it was just Halloween yesterday, and I wanted to find a really cute video to go with that. But I had to scrap that idea, because I found this one instead. For this video, Chris Shimojima collected subway musicians in New York City, and connected with them digitally. Then, using the subway’s wi-fi, he orchestrated a beautiful collection of instruments in an impressive show of our current digital age.
You often hear and read how dependently society clings to their devices. All day long the tap, tap, tap of our keys, the snapping of our camera phones, the endless ding of a notification. Whose to argue with that? At times that is very true. But one of the great things about this video, besides connecting artists and talented people that often get overlooked, is the testament to what amazing things we can do with technology. Technology, like anything else in the world, has the power to make our society better or worse. The question is, what will you do with it?
